Communication systems design is usually a very complex process. The general telecommunication industry is very dynamic in terms of new technologies and enhancement of the current technologies is also evolving day by day. In any cases, data communication usually looks at the transmission of the digital data between two or more computers. The physical connection between the networked computing devices is also established by use of wireless or cable media. The best common type of network is the internet. The following essay looks at the use of Wide Area network as type of communication link that can be used in interconnecting two locations (Spiro, 2014).

Hub and Spoke

Full Mesh

If the institutions decide to use the Hub-and -spoke, there could be some disadvantages, which is usually on communication, where it all has to go through the hub. In consideration of a full mesh topology using the different virtual circuits any site can also be used to directly communicate with other sites. The weakness that is found here is on the fact that a large number of virtual circuits which need to be maintained and configured will also display a particular full mesh topology that is made of four routers connected to one another across the wide area network cloud as shown below (Canzian, Badia, & Zorzi, 2011).

Critical Reflection

In regard to ensuring the connection of this network with WAN there is going to have a model that can be used in the campus network will depend on the growth of the institution. In this regard a good design and implementation of the full size multimedia facility will depend on the successful implementation of the pilot model. This will be the only way that the model can be replicated to the partnering institutions and ensure communication. So as to handle additional workload, the institutions will also need to hire more staff, it will need to leas more office space. This is because the multimedia network will also see the development of various major projects where each is going to require a support staff and project manager. It is important that the two institutions organize themselves in to different functional departments where the two departments are going to have their own team to manage the center. This will also mean being able to meet all Th growing needs of the network by moving to several levels of communication networks (Canzian, Badia, & Zorzi, 2011). As the project continues to expand, it will also mean the network will continue to grow. Instead thus of having a single local area network, the institution will need to add other sub networks of which each of them will be devoted to a unique department. One example is on the communicating staff were they will all be placed in one local area network, at the same time the marketing staff will be on another LAN. The different LANs are they going to be joined to one network to create a companywide network also known as the campus, consisting of different floors as shown below.

Also it is important to ensure that the business is full of IT staff that can maintain and support the network. Which will include dedicated transfer of data, server for emails and storage of files. Also the applications and web based productivity tools will be put in consideration. Also a company intranet will provide for an in-house information and documents to each employee.
