1. Application of the term “worldview” to multicultural health

The term “worldview” can be illustrated as mental lenses which that are implanted ways of conceptualizing the world. The term “worldview” has been adopted from the German word "Weltanschauung" and suggests a person's outlook on personal life, institutions and social world. It predominantly indicates values, beliefs and assumptions about the relationship, people, nature, activity and time. It is relevant to point out the fact that every individual possesses an ethnic-cultural identity, and thus play a pivotal role in terms of shaping the worldview of a person (Ratts et al., 2016). Multicultural health system suggests an impartial health system that considers linguistic and cultural diversity as the core of service planning, delivery of services and developing policies. It is a strategy that seeks to improve the health of people belonging to religiously, culturally and socially diverse backgrounds. It further develops policies so that people belonging to diverse backgrounds can have access to quality healthcare services.

Worldview is considered as a popular construct that can be easily be applied to counselling.   Understanding the beliefs and core values in the entire process of counselling is considered effective in terms of decreasing the possibility of oppressing the client by applying therapeutic assumptions and values. According to McMillan, (2015), it is very important to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the worldview of a client before setting up a therapeutic relationship. Worldview is also effective in terms of eliminating the possibility of cultural biases.

According to McMillan, (2015), worldview suggests a philosophy of life that seeks to answer various fundamental questions associated with human existence. Health disparity is considered as one of the major health concerns that affect the practice of medicine exponentially.  A worldview can abet the healthcare professionals to shape the care radically by acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the patent and his/her family. According to McFadden et al., (2018), variation in system and provider level may result in health disparities. For example, if an immigrant population experience a disproportionate amount of tuberculosis and attribute the reason to some supernatural elements, it may result in considerable delay in primary diagnosis. In contrary to the isolated health belief constructs, worldviews seek to relate everything associated with the life of an individual.  Additionally, it offers an elaborative way to make out the predominant reason for the cultural clash in healthcare.

2. Comparing and contrasting three cultures in terms of world views

Asian people are considered as high achieving, homogenous and bimodal in terms of their socio-economic status.  It is worth mentioning that the socio-economic factors have a significant impact in terms of providing healthcare services Since Asian immigrants usually have lower-salaried jobs and prolonged working hours, usually, they do not want medical care, specifically in terms of preventing diseases. Furthermore, a number of studies have suggested the fact that Asian patients are not interested in avail healthcare even when they have been experiencing some symptoms, fearing the expenditure of healthcare services and loss of wok-time.

One of the most important pillars encountered by most of the physicians while providing healthcare services to the Arabian patients is fasting (Muchtar et al., 2017). During Ramadan, Arabians observes fasting for a month in compliance with the teachings of the Quran. However, those are travelling or having poor health is exempted from fasting. However, despite severe illness, the Arabian patient tends to fast during Ramadan. The prospect of solidarity is also prevalent in Arabian culture. In contrary to the Asian culture, in Arabian culture decisions are taken as per individual basis.

A traditional African firmly believes that sound health is not just efficient functioning of multiple bodily organs. Sound health, for the traditional people, means physical, emotional, mental and spiritual stability of both the individual, family and the entire community as a whole. In African culture sound health is usually understood based on the association with one’s forefathers.

Going through both Asian and Arabian culture, a number of striking contrasts can easily be perceivable. Some of the major limitations faced by healthcare professionals while providing acre to the Arabian patients encompass misconception about illness and modesty. On the other hand, Asians are reluctant to avail healthcare services on account of losing working hours and huge financial expenditure. However, people belonging to both cultures provide much emphasis on their spiritual well-being (Ratts et al., 2016). On the contrary, a traditional African believes that sound health does not indicate the proper functioning of the physical organs. It is coordination of multifaceted stability, such as spiritual, emotional and mental.

3. Comparing and contrasting three cultures along with the impact of their religious practices on their health

Having consciousness about health is considered as a prevalent practise among the Amish. Amish religion does not discourage people from availing modern healthcare services. As a part of their religious practices, they tend to take leas alcohol, less salt, less tobacco and more minerals and vitamin supplements. Amish tend to visit local healthcare professionals. The life of the Amish centres on their family, work and church. In contrary to the culture of the Amish, Roma provides much emphasis on cleanliness, respect, purity and justices.  Like the Amish, Roma seeks to link health with hygiene in terms of maintaining their health. They firmly believe that the human body is the bifurcation of two parts, "the clean part" (upper part) and "the dirty part" (lower part). In contrary to the Amish, Roma firmly believes that the hospitals are loaded with harmful bacteria and viruses. Therefore, they do not usually visit the hospital unless they are forced. Like the Amish, religion plays a leading role in terms of the well being of the Hispanic. Since they tend to consume foods that are saturated with a lot of fats, they tend to develop cancer and heart disease. Some of the other common health hazards faced by the Hispanic encompass stress, obesity and diabetes mellitus (Singer e al., 2016). Unlike the Amish, as a part of their religious practice, Hispanic seeks to visit traditional healthcare professionals, including herbalists, parteras and hueseros.
