This article has highlighted mainly the fact about the presence of corruption in that of the public projects and megaprojects. It has shown the relevance of corruption in cases of projects by showing a case study of the Italian high speed railways. In this regard, thus it can be said that the government is the only source which can play an important role in detecting corruption and implement methods of reducing it. Corruption can be considered to be the main topic in case of the megaprojects because a huge investment is being involved in megaprojects and it creates a deep impact on the economy and also on the environment. Two of the main research questions are being involved in the paper which says that 1. Which of the characteristics of project do favor corruption? And 2. How does the corrupt context will be going to affect the performance of the project as a whole?
It has been thus revealed from the paper that at first it is necessary to identify the problem and then research further on the topic. In order to deliver the project to be free from corruption it is important to have a good understanding about corruption from the perspective of the project management. It is also important to identify the tools and some of the guidelines relating to corruption. Corruption does not lead to formation of any extra cost but it results in increase of transaction cost. Some of the improved tools are also being felt necessary to develop to determine the performance of corruption of a project. The main cause of the inefficiency can be considered the presence of corruption in megaprojects and this thing cannot be at all ignored in anyway (Giorgio, Giacomo, Tristano & Marco, 2019).
