In the given case study, Corwin Corporation accepted a project of manufacturing specialty product (rubber) from Peters company. Patrick Ray is assigned as the in house representative of Peters, company, who will report each detail of the project to Dr. Frank Delia, the marketing vice president of Peter's company. It is evident from the case study, that Ray has been interrupting the ongoing project operation, without the permission of the project leader. This frequent interruption has led to employee dissatisfaction and project cost overrun. Thus, Ray should follow a stepwise procedure for submitting a request to deal with the required changes. First step is the submission of change request. In this step, the project member interested in implementing change need to submit a request for the change in the project. The change requester needs to summarize certain details about the change, such as, description, reason, cost, benefit, impact, and supporting documentation (Heldman, 2018). Second step of change request is the review of change request. The change request isthen reviewed by the project manager. The project manager makes change decision upon: benefits of change, source of change solution, number of change options. Third step includes the approval of change request. Here, the project manager sends the change details and supporting documentation to the senior supervisor for final approval. The decision is taken on the basis of risk, resources, time, finance, and quality. In the final approval, the change proposal can be rejected, or approved, or escalated. Final step is the closing of change request. In case the change request is accepted, it is communicated to the entire project team member, in the form of a status report.
