Reflection on the process of writing a research paper

While writing a research paper, I have gone through several processes such as understanding the assignment and the topic, planning, research and outlining, organizing the research paper, writing the paper, revising and proofreading. All these processes come under prewriting, writing and revising process (Cloutier, 2016).I have found that revising is the most helpful process as it helped me to revise the paper thoroughly and make necessary changes in weak portions.

I would like to share that while writing a paper, one must begin with a thesis statement, prepare a map or outline and follow the note cards of the topic assigned.

To execute the process of writing a research paper smoothly, I have used various techniques and methods such as researching about the topic, narrowing down the topic, gathering relevant information, using a free witting technique and revising it several times.

Using transition is the method that has not helped me yet in writing a research paper, but it is determined to be a useful method that may be helpful for me in the future. Using this method would help to paragraph, inverse outlining and developing a summary.
